On The Scene//Liverpool Art Fair

My last occasion to frequent Camp and Furnace was as Threshold Festival's official commentator back in February. But over the Jubilee Weekend the Liverpool Art Fair in the same venue will no doubt entertain art lovers and that seeming handful of spectators keen to avoid the parade of blue red and white. Held in the The Golden Room and lower floor of the venue the fair brings together a lot of art from various local and up and coming artists all under one thousand pounds. The lower floor showcases the pieces that are priced under £100 although to some eyes the work is worth much more than that in sheer terms of beauty and time. There were many familiar faces from the art scene present with the obligatory wine to hand and a warm atmosphere pervading the venue as the art got tongues wagging and eyes darting in it's direction.

Highlights included the 3-D art especially which delighted many including myself, especially Seba Rashii Culture favourite Victor van Velzen whom we interviewed a few months back after seeing his exemplary work at Threshold Festival. The venue itself also made the show special, just as it had for Threshold.  Take a look at the selection of art until 4th June at 6pm. Tear yourself away from the Queen and enjoy some art people!
